Edit 31.07.2013: A DD??? I am so blown away! Thank you sooooooooooo much!
My finished Nemo 2.0
I am so proud, for I made this robot from scratch and I have neither a workshop nor the perfect tools or even material. I had to live with what I got my hands on.
Much thinking went into this hard-shelled puppet and I can only hope that the cute guy will meet the expectations set into him.THE MISSION:
Create a PLAYABLE handpuppet of the mascot robot NEMO 2.0 from scratch.
Here is the reference
# The jaw had to be moveable (playable from within).
# The puppet had to be playable from the bottom.
# Torso and head together about 60cm tall.
# Poseable arms.
# Fingers poseable and able to hold things.
# Eyes and battery charge field in magenta (To track them after filming, which means digitally animating them).
# Turnable wind-up key.
Done: 7 out of 7
Options I added:
# Proper eyes and battery charge field, attached with strong magnets.
# A zipper at the back of the neck to be able to play the puppet from behind too.
# Detachable legs to use Nemo as a complete decorative Robot too
# Detachable head.
That is the reason I was so quiet the last three weeks. Nemo was MUCH work.
Wish him luck, for it is planned that he will act in short web clips where he works with children on small funny experiments...
